摘要
The breakdown of the stratospheric polar vortex in spring and the stratosphere's transition to a summer regime affect processes and phenomena in adjacent atmospheric layers. Recent studies confirm that this transition occurs in different ways. Depending on the rate of wind regime change at different altitudes, it can be divided into a radiative transition, i.e., a natural transition that occurs under the influence of solar radiation, and a dynamic transition, which occurs during a sudden stratospheric warming in late winter and early spring. Studying the impact of different types of transitions not only on the stratosphere itself but also on the troposphere will help to understand better the ongoing processes and interactions between atmospheric layers. Using MERRA2 reanalysis data, an analysis of the spring vortex breakdown was conducted using Empirical Orthogonal Functions (EOFs), taking into account variability in the zonal wind component and temperature in the middle stratosphere at mid- and high latitudes. Estimates of the impact of each type of transition on the surface temperature regime during the spring months following the breakdown of the stratospheric polar vortex were calculated.
